FOSIS Condemns the Assassination of Benazir Bhutto

Friday, 28 December 2007
The Federation of Student Islamic Societies (FOSIS) in the UK and Eire condemned in no uncertain terms the assassination of Benazir Bhutto, and expressed its solidarity with the Pakistani Nation in this troubled time.

Ali Alhadithi, President of FOSIS, said today, “We received the news of Benazir Bhutto’s assassination in complete shock. We pay tribute to her, and offer our heartfelt condolences to her family and the Pakistani Nation.”

He further added, “In light of the current political instabilities in Pakistan, there can be no doubt that this crime was executed by ill minded parties who wish to slide the country into a state chaos and disorder. We sincerely hope that the perpetrators are soon discovered and brought to justice.”

FOSIS calls on all Pakistan’s Citizens to cooperate with the authorities in unveiling this conspiracy, and urges the authorities to exercise self restraint and to avoid resorting to excessive measures that may lead to unnecessary persecution of innocent people.
